Your questions

Before you

What is the difference between API and MCP?

Use MCP with an AI assistant. Use the REST API when you are building an application or service. Both follow Substy’s access rules.

Is access available to every agency?

API and MCP access must be enabled for your agency. If it is unavailable, contact Substy through the dashboard support chat. Creating an account or choosing a plan does not activate access automatically.

Do I need an API key for MCP?

No. MCP uses browser sign-in and an access consent screen. REST integrations use a personal API key created in Substy.

What can my assistant access?

The agency and categories you approve, limited by your current role and creator access. A connection cannot give an assistant more access than you have.

Can integrations reply directly to fans?

Direct conversational replies are not available through API or MCP. Supported options include scheduled messages, bulk campaigns, scripts and AI controls, within their enabled categories.

How is this different from Substy Intelligence?

Intelligence is the assistant inside Substy. MCP connects an external agent, while the API connects your own software.

Are there usage limits?

API keys and MCP connections share an agency request budget. See the developer documentation for current limits and retry guidance.
